English
We warmly welcome you to the website of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Haarlem(The Netherlands). Our Lutheran congregation dates back to the 17th century. For decades the Lutherans had to move about carefully. They were tolerated in Haarlem but had to come together in ‘sheltered churches’ that could not be recognised from the public streets. Now that time has long gone. Today, our church building in ‘Witte Herenstraat’ is unmistakably a church and our congregation gladly presents itself to the world outside.
We like to be an active, casual and lively community, like Jesus Christ asks his church to be. We are rooted in the Lutheran tradition and believe that God is merciful and loves people.
If you happen to be in the area, you are kindly invited to join us for the Sunday morning worship. Worship service starts at 10:30 am in the Lutheran Church in Haarlem (address below). On 3 Sundays per year we have combined services in one of the other protestant churches in Haarlem. We do not have English worship services, but you will find there is always someone to guide you through the liturgy.
In the column at the right you will find a few pages of English information about Jesus, Lutheranism and our activities. Feel free to contact us! Get connected »
